Hello ICS Families!
Welcome back to school from the Islesboro Community Center!
Once again, we will offer after school care, though our Kids Club program, for the students of ICS. This year, we welcome students from all grade levels to attend Kids Club every afternoon from 3:15pm – 5:30pm. In addition, we will also offer after school care on half-days, as well as school vacation weeks.
The fee schedule is as follows. Payments will be due weekly:
- 1 Student = $2.50/hour
- 2 Students = $4.00/hour
- 3 or more Students = $6.00/hour
Annual Rate: (excludes non-school days, which will be billed at the hourly rate)
- 1 Student = $412.50
- 2 or more Students = $660.00
As some of you already know, this year Alex Hodges has the great privilege to lead teach the Kids Club program. Alex comes to this position with a background in education and student wellness. After studying in the University of Southern Maine’s Extended Teacher Education Program, she worked as a 6th-8th grade Spanish teacher in Falmouth, Maine. Once she moved back to Islesboro in 2015, Alex completed her M.S.Ed. in Teaching and Learning. Her passions include language and culture, as well as technology and student innovation. She is looking forward to sharing these interests in Kids Club!
We welcome you to aid our program throughout the year, either through volunteerism or donations of classroom snacks and materials. Here is a list of items that we hope to collect throughout the year for our students:
- Boxes of tissues
- Colored pencils/Construction Paper
- World Maps
- Glue Sticks
- Almond butter
- Popcorn kernels for popping
- Bags of apples
- Bunches of bananas
